Made In America Store
On July 20, 2013 the Aurora Theater in East Aurora, NY was very busy as 400 people showed up to view the American Made Movie. The movie shows the struggles of American manufacturers and the effects unemployment has on communities and families. It also focuses on the American companies that are bringing manufacturing jobs back and how they are doing so without compromise. Featured in the movie is the Made In America Store in Elma, NY.
Made In America Store owner, Mark Andol, had spent many years building a manufacturing business, General Welding and Fabricating, Inc. The business was quite successful, providing quality workmanship to his customers. Then the global demand for cheaper goods and The Great Recession undermined his business as customers bailed in favor of less expensive and poorer quality products made off shore. Mr. Andol was forced to lay off half of his workers. But, he was not completely discouraged. He believed in the dignity of those who work with their hands and their ability to support and educate their families. He knew that unemployment can destroy the American Dream. Mr. Andol began to envision a store that would only carry 100% American made products.
On Apri 3, 2010, he opened the Made IN America Store; the only brick and mortar general merchandise store in the United States that exclusively sells 100% American made products, including the packaging. His mission was to restore manufacturing jobs to the United States. The Made In America Store sells everything imaginable from groceries, home goods, stationary, and toys to clothing and hardware. Even pet owners can find food, toys, and accessories for their pets! Local Western New York favorites are also carried at the Made In America Store such as Fortuna's Salad Dressing, Weber's Mustard and Relishes, Anchor Bar Chicken Wing Sauce, and books on Western New York.
Bedore Tours was the first motorcoach company to bring a group of visitors to the Made In America Store. We were also the first motorcoach company to bring an international group from South America to the store. We believe in what Mr. Andol is doing and support his efforts. One of our coaches was used in the American Made Movie. We also enjoy visiting his store and showing both national and international groups what Americans can create. The Made In America store is a great stop on your group's adventures. Give us a call and let us set up a tour for you.
